Nexon Wants to Own JCE

October 12th, 2011

JCE announced its largest shareholders are in consideration of selling their whole shares to Nexon interested in taking over the company and handed over the company business data to Nexon.

If this deal made, Nexon will have 35.44% of JCE and become the largest shareholder. In other words, JCE will be a subsidiary of Nexon soon.

Nexon so far has acquired companies such as Neople, Ndoors, and Gamehi by purchasing majority of shares in order to assure the management. But this time is different.

The second largest shareholder of JCE is Gigamedia from Taiwan by 12.38%, followed by Samsung Fund(5.08%) and National Pension Service(5.01%). Therefore Nexon must make other deals with them in order to make JCE its full subsidiary. So far it is not known if Nexon is really doing such talks with them.

In case of taking over JCE, Nexon would include more online sports games <Freestyle>, <Freestyle Football>, and <Freestyle 2>. Nexon has also partnered with Take Two for online baseball game <MLB 2K>.
